പുസ്തകങ്ങളുടെ വിരുന്നൊരുക്കി വീണ്ടുമൊരു പുസ്തകമേളയ്ക്ക് തലസ്ഥാനനഗരിയില്‍ വേദി ഒരുക്കുകയാണ് ഡി സി ബുക്‌സ്. 2016 ഒക്ടോബര്‍ 7 മുതല്‍ 23 വരെ തിരുവനന്തപുരം പുത്തരിക്കണ്ടം മൈതാനിയില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന പുസ്തകമേളയില്‍ കേരളത്തിലെ സാമൂഹ്യസാംസ്‌കാരികരംഗങ്ങളിലെ പ്രമുഖരെ പങ്കെടുപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുള്ള സാംസ്‌കാരിക സമ്മേളനങ്ങളും പുസ്തകപ്രകാശനങ്ങളും കലാസന്ധ്യകളും ഒരുക്കിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
പതിനേഴു ദിവസം നീളുന്ന പുസ്തകമേളയില്‍ ഇന്ത്യയിലും വിദേശത്തുമുള്ള 350-ല്‍പ്പരം പ്രസാധകരുടെ പത്ത് ലക്ഷത്തിലധികം പുസ്തകങ്ങളാണ് വായനക്കാരെ കാത്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. മെഡിക്കല്‍ സയന്‍സ്, എന്‍ജിനീയറിങ്, മാനേജ്‌മെന്റ് തുടങ്ങിയ അക്കാദമിക് മേഖലയിലെ പുസ്തകങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം ചരി്രതം, സാഹിത്യം തുടങ്ങിയ എല്ലാ മേഖലകളിലെയും പുസ്തകങ്ങളും ലഭ്യമാണ്. ലക്ഷക്കണക്കിനു പുസ്തകങ്ങള്‍ ഒരുക്കിയിരിക്കുന്ന ഈ മേളയില്‍ പുസ്തകങ്ങള്‍ കാണുന്നതിനും തിരഞ്ഞെടുക്കുന്നതിനും കൂടുതല്‍ സൗകര്യങ്ങളും വായനക്കാര്‍ക്കായി ക്രമീകരിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
ഒക്ടോബര്‍ 07 വെള്ളിയാഴ്ച വൈകിട്ട് 5.30ന് നടക്കുന്ന ഉദ്ഘാടനസമ്മേളനത്തില്‍ ഡോ ജി മാധവന്‍നായര്‍, ഡോ.ടി പി ശ്രീനിവാസന്‍, ഡോ. ബി ഇക്ബാല്‍, സി പി നായര്‍, ജോര്‍ജ്ജ് ഓണക്കൂര്‍ തുടങ്ങി സാംസ്‌കാരിക-രാഷ്ട്രീയരംഗത്തെ പ്രമുഖര്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്നു. തുടര്‍ന്ന് പൗലോ കൊയ്‌ലോയുടെ ഏറ്റവും പുതിയ നോവലിന്റെ മലയാള പരിഭാഷ ‘ചാരസുന്ദരി’, ശശി തരൂരിന്റെ ‘ഇന്ത്യ ശാസ്ത്ര; നമ്മുടെ കാലത്തെ ചില രാഷ്ട്ര ചിന്തകള്‍’ എന്നീ പുസ്തകങ്ങള്‍ പ്രകാശനം ചെയ്യും.

DC Books Mega Book fair to grace Trivandrum
The feast of books is served for the readers at DC Books Mega Book fair 2016 from 7th October to 23rd October at Putharikandam Ground.
The 17 day long book fair will showcase countless number of titles from 350+ national and international publishers. Medical Science, Engineering and Management books under the academic genre along with Historical and literature related books from almost all genres are in display and sales at the book fair.
The fair will be graced by the presence of eminent personalities from the respective fields. Along with the book fair Cultural fest and book releases are organized at the book fair.
The inauguration meet will have the dignified presence of eminent personalities from the Culture-political field.
Later on the day the Malayalam translation of the much attention driven latest book from acclaimed writer Paulo Coelho titled Chaarasundari will be released followed by India Sasthra written by Sashi Tharoor.
On October 10th by 5.30pm Muthe ponne pinangale written by Aristo Suresh will be discussed followed by a musical evening which will be participated by Aristo Suresh and friends.
On October 11th by 5.30pm the book release of Soochiyum Noolum by Indrans will be released. The event will be attended by B.Murali, Vinay fort, Shamsudeen Kuttoth and Indrans.
On October 13th by 5.30pm Keralam 60 which chronicles the state’s cultural history as a series comprising of:
Keralacharithrathile pathu kallakathakal by M.G.S.Narayanan, Keralathinte Kuttaneshwanacharithram by Dr.B.Umadathan, Vimarshakar, Vidhushakar, Viplavakarikal malayala pathrapankthiyude charithram by N.P.Rajendran, Ini Varunnoru Thalamuraykkku by V.N. Haridas, Kudiyettom by Benyamin and Keralathinte Sthreecharithrangal ,Sthree Munnettangal by C.S.Chandrika will be released. The event will be participated by Jacob Thomas IPS(Vigilance Director), Rishiraj Singh IPS, Dr.B.Umadathan, N.P,.Rajendran, P.K.Rajasekharan, V.N.Haridas and C.S.Chandrika.
On October 15th by 5,30pm the five novels which won the DC Literature awards will be released. The title which won the awards is: Herberium by Sonia Rafeek, Christmas dweepilekku oru yathra by M.A Baiju, Geethanjali by Shabitha M.K, Thasrakkinte pusthakam by Sameera N and Libinte Pisachukal by Neenu Ansar.
V.J.James, Radhika C Nair, Sonia Rafeeq, M.A.Baiju, WShabeetha M.K, Neenu Ansar and Sameera N will take part in the event. Later Kavyasandhya by Sam Mathew famed for his poem Sakhavu will be held.
On October 16th by 4pm Gynecology 101 chodyangalum utharangalum written by Dr.Subhadra Nair will be released. The book release will have the presence of Surya Krishnamurthy, Dr. Thomas Mathew, Dr.Chandrika Menon and Dr. Jayakrishnan.
On 18th October by 5.30pm Pennmayude vazhikal written by Sister Jesme and ‘Pallyvaipile kothiklaukal written by Samad will be released in the event which will be attended by Minister C.Raveendranath,George Onakkoor, Usha S Nair, E.M.Hashim and E.M.Satheesh.
On ctober 20th by 5.30pm Biriyani written by Santhosh Echikkanam which is discussed widely will be released along with the titles Athijeevanam written by E.Santhosh Kumar, Kollapaatti daya by G.R.Indu gopan, ‘Avan Marjaraputhran by Madhupal ,and Gajja written by Tanuja Bhattathiripadu. Chandramathy, Santhosh Echikkanam, Madhupal,G.R.Indugopan, Thanuja Bhattathiripad will take part in the event.
On 21st October by 5.30pm Kavyasandhya and release of anthology of poems will take place.
